What we collect, why, and what you control.
Last updated October 29, 2026Version 2026-10-29-draft
This policy explains what Killer Pilots collects, why we collect it, who can see it and what you control. We have kept it short on purpose.
Who is responsible
SiteRecord, the company that owns and operates Killer Pilots, is responsible for your data. Reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
Your account
Your name and email, which every account needs. Your company, role and phone number if you choose to add them. Whether you are a pilot, a client or both, your statement that you are 18 or older, and the version and time of the terms you accepted.
Pilot listings
Everything a pilot types or uploads to a listing: bio, services, equipment, credentials, insurance details, service areas, pricing, headshot or logo, portfolio images and video links, and social links. A listing also includes a private street address for the home base. It places the listing on the map and is never shown to anyone.
Documents
Certificate documents a pilot uploads for review. They are kept in a private store with no content delivery network in front of it, and they are read only through the reviewer's screen.
Usage
Sign-in events and the devices you ask us to remember, so we can spot an unusual sign-in. Searches and profile views, counted in aggregate so we can see what the directory is used for. We do not build a browsing profile of you.
Where location is concerned
The exact address of a pilot's base never leaves our servers. The public map shows a point at least 1,000 meters from the address, or the center of the pilot's city if the pilot prefers. The offset point is fixed, so repeated page loads cannot be averaged back to the real location. Distances shown to visitors are rounded to whole miles.
Who can see what
- Listings are public. Anyone, including search engines and AI crawlers, can read a published profile.
- Contact details (email, phone and website) and social links are shown only to signed-in accounts, and only if the pilot has left them switched on.
- Documents are seen only by the reviewer who checks them.
- Reviews are public and carry the author's name, account tag and join date.
- Your private address, sign-in history and account settings are seen only by you, and by us when we support you.
Service providers
We use a small number of companies to run the service. Each one handles data only on our instructions.
- Amazon Web Services, in the United States, for hosting, sign-in, file storage, email delivery and automated image checks on uploads.
- Amazon Location Service for maps, geocoding and place lookup.
- Cloudflare for content delivery, security and privacy-friendly analytics that use no cookies.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies
We set cookies to keep you signed in and to remember a device you have asked us to remember. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking cookies.
The SiteRecord relationship
SiteRecord builds site-capture tools, and one day it may need pilots in a given place. A pilot's listing may later be used to match pilots with capture requests from SiteRecord's services. Before any such feature starts, every pilot will have a switch in their account to turn it off, and we will update this policy to say exactly what is shared.
We send transactional email only: sign-in and verification codes, the result of a credential review, notices about reviews or disputes on your listing, messages from other accounts, and account notices such as a change to these policies. We do not send marketing email unless you opt in separately, and you can opt out again at any time.
How long we keep data
- Your account and listing, for as long as you keep the account.
- When you ask us to delete your account, your listing comes down immediately and your personal data is removed within 30 days. Uploaded documents are purged in the same window.
- Aggregate statistics, such as how many searches ran in a month, are kept without any names attached.
- Where the law requires a longer record, such as a log of administrative actions, we keep only what it requires.
Your rights
Everyone gets the same rights here, wherever you live. You can:
- See the data we hold about you.
- Export it as a file.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and the data with it.
Most of this is self-serve from your account settings. For anything else, email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Killer Pilots is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we delete any account we find that belongs to someone younger.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we will update the date and version at the top of this page and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in.
